How long does having a photographic memory lasts?

In college I found out that I don't need to memorize terms, formulas and names and dates. I just closed my eyes and can visualize every page of the book I concentrated to look at the previous night before my examinations. Interestingly, I can't memorize telephone numbers and names easily. Nonetheless, I can still remember places, faces and events easily.
