Asian Chinese getting looks in eastern europe?

So right now I'm traveling in Eastern Europe. I get ALOT of looks when in Bosnia and Montenegro. The locals, from the old man and women, teenegers and to the ladies keep staring at me. I have had European telling me I'm attractive before so it can't be that I'm stared at because I'm butt-ugly. I'm a soldier so I'm more than capable of defending myself, kill if I have to. I'm just curious at the states. I'm a Singaporean Chinese.
